Mission

To stand with survivors of domestic violence, offering the practical tools, emotional support, and real pathways they need to escape abuse forever and rebuild lives filled with safety, strength, and hope.

Our Story – Born from Survival, Built for Survivors

House of Helping Hands began with one woman who lived the nightmare so many still face today.
Our founder knows what it feels like to be trapped—not just by fear, but by the cold reality of financial dependence. She knows the terror of having every dollar, every decision, every escape route controlled by the person hurting you.

In January 2020, a small circle of volunteers rallied around her vision: no survivor should ever feel they have to stay because they have nowhere else to go.

Then March 2020 arrived. The world locked down—and domestic violence exploded. Shelters overflowed. Helplines rang nonstop. Survivors, now trapped 24/7 with their abusers, reached out in desperation.

We didn’t wait.

In weeks—not months—we launched emergency financial aid, virtual counseling, safe relocation support, and partnerships that kept help flowing when everything else shut down. Against every obstacle of the pandemic, we grew stronger because survivors needed us to.

Today, we see the same heartbreaking truth over and over:
- 99% of domestic violence cases involve financial abuse—abusers deliberately sabotage credit, drain accounts, and block job opportunities to keep control.
- 40% of survivors stay because they literally cannot afford food, rent, or childcare on their own.
- Alcohol and substance misuse often fuel the violence, turning tense moments into life-threatening ones.

These aren’t just numbers. They’re mothers hiding in bathrooms texting for help. They’re fathers too ashamed to speak up. They’re people who deserve freedom.

This is where everything changes.

At House of Helping Hands, we refuse to let money—or fear—keep anyone chained to their abuser. We provide:
- Emergency financial grants and housing support
- Job training and career placement that lead to real independence
- Trauma-informed therapy and peer mentoring
- Legal advocacy and safety planning

- A community that says loud and clear: You are not alone. You are worth fighting for.

We grow, adapt, and expand with every survivor we serve—yet our heart remains the same: to make sure no one ever has to choose between violence and homelessness again.

Everyone, at some point in life, has needed a helping hand.

Today, survivors need yours.

Will you reach out?
