Every minute, nearly 20 people in the U.S. are assaulted by someone who claims to love them.

By the end of today, thousands more will be hurt in their own homes.

Let that sink in.

Domestic violence isn’t rare.
It’s not someone else’s problem.

It’s happening next door. At work. In your community.

The numbers are staggering:

• 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience severe violence from a partner.
• 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been slapped, pushed, or shoved by someone they loved.
• 1 in 7 women and 1 in 25 men have been injured badly enough to need medical care.
• 1 in 10 women have been raped by an intimate partner.
• 1 in 7 women have been stalked to the point of fearing for their lives.
• Domestic violence hotlines receive 20,000+ calls every day — that’s one cry for help every 4 seconds.

When a gun is present in an abusive home, the risk of homicide jumps 500%.

And yet, most survivors never seek medical help — often because they’re scared, controlled, or ashamed.

These aren’t just statistics.

They’re:

• Someone hiding bruises before work.
• A parent shielding their child from violence.
• A partner lying awake at night, wondering if tonight will be worse.

Domestic violence destroys lives — sometimes suddenly, sometimes slowly over years.

But silence helps it continue.

Awareness saves lives.

Listen.
Believe survivors.
Speak up.

You might help someone escape the most dangerous situation of their life.

Stand with survivors.
